DialIM is the new generation of Passenger Information Monitor (PIM): A screen is installed in the back seat to provide both information and entertainment. All monitors have buttons to both mute and turn off the PIM. The PIM facilitates payment of all fares by permitting passenger credit card payment from the back seat.
How does the System Work
The passenger swipes the card on the credit card reader that would be located in the back of the taxicab. The driver hands the receipt to the passenger that the passenger will sign and indicate the tip amount on it. Once the transaction is approved, the driver gives a receipt to the passenger. If the transaction is declined, a message will be displayed saying the transaction is declined. Once the charge is approved the funds are wire transferred into the driver's debit card or to the company bank account.
